The MENA Housing Forum aims to promote, advocate, and develop a common vision towards inclusive and sustainable housing for all, across the MENA region.
Building on the momentum and partnerships created as part of the 2022 MENA regional and national housing fora, the MENA Urban Housing Practitioners Hub (MENA-UHPH) is an open platform for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and best practices on housing and urban issues in the region.
The MENA Housing Forum is part of a global series of housing forums organized by Habitat for Humanity in collaboration with partner organizations in different regions of the world.
The forum will provide a platform for housing stakeholders across the region to rise up to ongoing housing challenges, including the persistence of informality, the rise in refugees, the need for increased resilience in the face of climate change, and the increase invulnerable populations in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Our housing forums promote policies, action, and innovations towards the sustainable provision of adequate housing amidst a number of global challenges: from the rise in refugees and migrants across the globe to the increase in vulnerable populations in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The conference will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector.
Whether attending in-person or via our virtual platform, the forum will allow all participants to connect and interact with likeminded professionals from the region.
The forum will feature diverse set of speakers representing the different issues prioritized by housing sector stakeholders across the MENA region.
The MENA Housing Forum Innovation Awards will reward initiatives that promote innovative solutions towards affordable and sustainable housing.

The MENA Housing Forum Innovation Awards competition seeks to promote and celebrate innovative approaches to improve housing conditions for low-income households at scale.
With the support of our sponsor, the Hilti Foundation, the focus of the Awards will be on rewarding initiatives that address real needs and provide affordable, disaster-resilient, inclusive, and sustainable housing solutions across the MENA region.
“Our mission in the Middle East is to build a safe and stable environment where families and communities can thrive.
With the first ever MENA Housing Forum we want to provide a platform for all the relevant stakeholders to share ideas, enhance collaboration, as well as define concrete actions and practical solutions that will improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable ones and help communities as a whole.”
“Habitat for Humanity Egypt is pleased that the first MENA Housing Forum takes place in Cairo. The need for housing in Egypt has significantly increased in both rural and urban areas as the demand for adequate housing for low-income families exceeds the supply and affordability of housing units.
We believe investing in housing is an investment in stability, success, and health of the community. Through the first MENA housing forum, we seek to enable a sustainable housing eco-system for vulnerable and low-income communities and increase the public awareness of the right to adequate and decent housing.”
